Mr. Yu is the principal partner of L & Y Law Office and Henry Yu & Associates. He obtained his bachelor of law degree in England and is qualified as a solicitor in both England and Wales and Hong Kong. Mr. Yu has also obtained the qualification from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Mr. Yu served as the Deputy Head of Legal Counsel of a major investment bank after he had worked for various international and Magic Circle law firms. Mr. Yu has rich experience in handling legal matters relating to corporate and commercial transactions, IPO, mergers and acquisitions, private equity investment, financing, fund formation, regulatory, licensing and commercial and shareholders’ disputes ,etc.
In recent years, Mr. Yu has developed strong interest in the blockchain industry and his enthusiasm and insightful views have been affirmed widely by various professional bodies. Mr. Yu is a member of the Innotech Committee (formerly known as the Technology Committee) of the Law Society of Hong Kong, and has also been appointed as the Honorary Legal Advisor to Hong Kong Federation of Invention and Innovation, the Honorary Legal Advisor to the Institute of Financial Technologists of Asia and the Honorary Legal Advisor to the Bitcoin Association of Hong Kong, the Honorary Legal Advisor to the TechFin (GHM Greater Bay Area) Association and overseas Executive Dean of the China Commercial Blockchain Legal Institute. He was awarded the “China Commercial 2019 Outstanding Contribution Award”. From time to time, Mr. Yu represents the Bitcoin Community at meetings with the Legislative Council members, the HKMA and the FTSB.
